Just be sure to buy all your PE gear from Sweetwater.
On credit of course.
And make Swedish trap music for Spotify using the financed gear.
Too soon?

Not to be a bit daft here, but he has a patreon and was giving some ‘discounts’ out though that. Not saying anything btw …
Not saying anything on this benn stuff. Though if he rubbished it, who would even pay the 199 that loopop was told - was the price for everyone but I digress…
The reality is when it’s on the market in cex and the like, pick it up for 25 quid.
is there a songmode?
Oh…Bllks! I was not aware of the + . but apart from the 4 synths ( juicy ) audio USB and stereo sampling… is the workflow the very same?
yes
Presumably they realised that the PLAY hardware could not handle most of the requested tasks by users and moved to a different platform for it.
I tried using my OG Play for a bit this morning to remind myself why I hated it.
It crashed and froze within about 3 minutes.
This continued to happen about every 10 minutes until I gave up.
I don’t think I’d be so mad about the release of the plus if they’d actually made the original usable before releasing a new one.
I doubt these issues will ever be fixed.
Damn that’s crazy. Mine has never crashed or frozen to the best of my memory. Can you send yours in? That’s a bummer, I’d be really frustrated too.
I’m not sure, I’ll try contacting them. I don’t think I’ve ever had a session with it when this didn’t happen. I’m just outside the return period as well by a couple of weeks. It always feels very laggy and unresponsive. Sometimes when you touch an encoder to change page all the lights stop moving and it takes about 5 seconds to recover.
I watched the Benn video everyone is angry at, and I don’t get the hate. Guy seems like such a cool dud, like Jon makes beats and while I agree he’s got a bias whilst unintentional, I do believe that he really digs the stuff Polyend does. I think for many, and as I mentioned its the fact its £££ which is souring our opinion about them,
I think I’m a very cool dud myself, most of the time.
Outrage…so HOT right now.
yeah felt bad for him, mental health ain’t no joke. I can understand why people would be justifiably upset with Polyend’s business decisions, which I feel suck due to the current economic climate as well. But Benn if you’re reading this, you rule.
Yep! Going after Benn when it’s Polyend at fault is ridiculous.
Going after anyone for anything in the synth world feels completely ridiculous 99.999999% of the time.
Ding ding ding, this man right here is right!
Yeah, getting personal never gets anything done. But where is the line drawn? Benn Jordan is a brand with 273K subscribers on YT, and therefore his videos are up for debate.
As Loopop wrote in a comment, which was linked in this debate, he consider his watchers his friends. His overall communication in his videos is in line with this. When I see the heavily debated video from Benn Jordan, I see a somewhat similar framing. He’s a friend showcasing a product, and he’s really enthusiastic about it - and that’s cool. But I think this is where the chain sort of falls off, because his actions (not being critical, ie. “not looking out for his friends”) seem to counteract the whole ‘friend’ portrayal, and I think that gives birth to some nasty comments because it grinds some peoples’ gears; the discrepancy between what he wants to portray, and the message most viewers get, does not line up and he appears false (ie. people calling him a 'shill). This, however, is not a carte blanche to get personal.
I honestly think it’s too bad about the whole ordeal. Polyend has yet again chosen a pretty unfortunate approach to the new product. I don’t need to rehash the debate, but it’s pretty bad and it sends a strong signal to current owners and completely deter me from buying anything from them. I owned the OG Tracker, absolutely loved it, but it was - and is - halfbaked. Halfbaked is something I can live with, if the company shows the will to improve upon their products. But Polyend rarely does in a magnitude that really counts. It’s always a product made on a promise of “what’s to come” but it never comes (EQ on the OG Tracker, clicks and pops etc.). And then there is the rather unfortunately handled shitstorms, like these, that they always come out somewhat snarky or denying what the general user/customerbase seem to deem right. I’m not saying the customer is always right, because that’s some rehearsed bullshit, but in this case it would appear so.
I’d love to snatch up the OG Play for a fraction of it’s original MSRP and use it as a dedicated sample player. For that purpose it was really nice
I still don’t understand the outrage. They updated a model, and are offering a discount for existing users. They dropped the price of the OG. People seem to think PE is attacking them personally with their business decisions. They even said they’d work with recent buyers. I’m going to stop paying attention to this thread it’s pointless anger. Just make music.
lol, yup. “This is how it’s gonna be and no amount of complaints is gonna change this.”
And the last paragraph is just stupid as if Polyend fanboys and Benn Jordan’s fan group are also not responsible for tribalism in their safe spaces.
Joke company and even further a joke when Elektron proves once again how great of a company they are with another Major update for a nearly 10 year old device.
The only thing Polyend has assured me with is this: Do Not Buy Polyend.
