Hi all,
I want to be able to play a sample when I push the button Play. I want this sample to be looped without having to place the right amount of triggs in the sequencer (also because sometimes my samples are longer than the number of steps). And I want my sample to stretch based on the tempo.
I have read about the Plays Free feature but the thing is I want the sample to be played automatically when I press Play.
Not really sure to understand your request. I think if you want the sample to start whenever you press play, you have to link the track to the sequencer. You’ll have to play with the track and master’s length if the dample is longer than 4 pages.
I think as long time stretch is on in the sample attributes, it will be synced to tempo whenever you launch it.
I’m also not exactly sure what you’re needing, but you can either let the sample get repeatedly triggered by a standard trig on a track, or set the trig to be one shot and enable looping so it’ll just loop over and over on its own.
Yes @GurtTractor that’s exactly what I wanted. So the one shot trig + loop enabled works wonderfully.
The only problem I have is when I want to change the sample while it’s playing I don’t want to stop everything and replay to trigger the new sample.
I’m not sure there’s a way to seamlessly switch to a new freely looping sample (or slice) on a track without just manually triggering with good timing, so I’d probably do that. You can trigger the samples on track 1-8 by pressing trigs 9-16, this can be done without stopping the sequencer.
Look into the slots trig mode, if you have your sample loops in flex or static slots you can trigger those on the fly with the OT’s trig buttons if you set the track’s trig mode to slots. You can also do that via MIDI with a little additional setup.
