Anyone smoke pipe and or cigar in here?
Youve just cut any chances of selling the Vermona and Modal by 45%.
Ha ha indeed but no smoking allowed inside it’s like the carrot in front of the donkey.
I used to smoke a pipe pretty regularly for a couple years. I found it much more enjoyable than cigars personally. I only stopped because I started to use it out of habit instead of enjoyment. Also, its not terribly convenient to smoke through the winter nor make my way to the single local tobacconist for supplies.
Maybe I’ll take a trip down in the spring!
Cigars are for fat rich guys in suits who want to look important.
I used to smoke a pipe for a bit.
I still smoke cigars.
(Before the gearheads cry…. Outdoors only )
A good (proper good) cigar and a nice whiskey or Scotch is delightful.
I smoke cigar outdoors only too.
I just found my pipe after moving house. Very rarely used and obviously outdoors but the whole process is a very satisfying method of welcoming death a little sooner.
I started smoking when i was … 12?
pipes mostly. But anything, really…
i smoked black tea in a rolled up hall pass.
i smoked a cotton ball.
ive been running away from sobriety since that tender age.
quit smoking 5 years ago this last April and it has been the best decision in life.
not a day goes by that i dont say to myself " Jesus Fucking Christ Almighty am I sure glad i quit smoking. I mean, Jesus Christ, just look at that asshole! Out there sucking down every last gasp of smoke right before the bus pulls up, only to pinch it off and put the butt in his shirt pocket to save for later… smelling like a bum’s nuts. Good God! i wanna puke just thinking about sitting next to him!"
or some such rant…
but quitters have to ride high on their respective horses. its just how it is.
nothing worse than a dry drunk proselytizing about how great it feels to be sober for 2 weeks or whatever…
I love a toot of snuff
However I don’t get it anymore as I get addicted and it’s a bit gross.
used to smoke [from a] pipe back in the days when there was no bongs here.
i did this for like a year maybe 2 years back, but i never sprung for a real pipe. just the cheapest corncob pipe the tobacco shop had. but yeah the worst part is trying to light a pipe while wearing gloves and making it to that one shop once they open
way better than cigarettes though, and vaping. wish i could do it indoors. i would devalue the shit out of every synth i own for that privilege
@Encephalitislerthargi Are you in the US or UK? I don’t bother with B&Ms as the ones that stock the good tabak are few and far between in the US so like most others into pipes I order online. I have around 5lbs of aging in jars and various unopened tins and given that I only smoke my pipe in the evening when walking my dog these days I likely have enough to last me 20 years. TAD (tobacco acquisition disorder) is the GAS of the pipe world.
I don’t really have the patience to get through a proper cigar but smoke Toscanos on occasion which are great as you can cut them to make a smaller smoke, they don’t need a humidor and young people haven’t seem of watched any of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns so they don’t look at me like I’m LARPing.
I am in the US. where do you order pipes from?
There used to be a high end tobacconist here in Manchester in the Royal Exchange before the bomb and subsequent redevelopment. I can remember going in a few times and checking out the expensive cigars in glass cabinets and humidors. We used to get our Zippo lighters there before they were stocked everywhere.
It was like a real Victorian shop and had prob changed little since those days. All polished hardwood cabinetry and glass and the shop keeper wore half moon spectacles and a dickie bow. It’s prob some chain clothes boutique now. I miss the old Manchester.
There are many others but these two carry most of the standards. For high end and custom built you can go direct to the carver.
Stopped smoking cigarettes since 7 months now (after 18y), had my pipe phase and still have my Falcon in the house with a few tins for when I have a better hold of my nicotine surge. Also have an small humidor with some cigars from a friend working in the field. We are used to smoke one or two when we see each other. Since I stopped cigarettes, I tried to keep nicotine intake under a lid for now.
I smoke cigars sometimes. A tasty Partagas with an ice cold beer is the simplest way to achieve 30 minutes of joy
