I saw this a while back and looked pretty interesting, but £4200 for a build-your-own, four voice mini-clone of a Prophet 5? I’m out.
100,000 Yen = 770.62 USD = 613.10 GBP not £4200!
There’s a real purity to this. They’re asking for help with the very modest expenses – they only need a total of $9241 USD to pay costs – to fund this as an entirely open source project ! They basically are giving this away.
Sounds like they have absolutely no interest in manufacturing this synth, though it is possible they might sell bare PCBs at the end, although maybe not. You can get in on this for as low as $8, or nothing if you prefer and just use the info they will publish.
The $771 level buys the bare circuit boards. ( Five boards maybe, a main board and 4 voice boards ?? Or maybe fewer. )
Cool it’s made to run with batteries, and has mini-keys.
Hope they get funded ! I bet they beat the conservative schedule they laid down.
