I’ve just bought myself an analogue RYTM at a price I couldn’t resist, I’ve been wishing for one for a while now and finally tonight …she will be mine.
I’ve watched hours of video and read through loads of guides so as to get a good idea of where to start.
My question is though, does anyone have any suggestions for a complete newbie to the electron world? How would you best recommend a way to try to fully understand and anything to avoid?
I’m intending on intergrating it into my studio along with my many other external hardware synths ( moog sub 37, DSI Pro 2…ect)) I use Cubase pro 9 and would be looking to get overbrige up and running asap so as to have it my main rhythm making machine alongside a few other VSTs.
Any suggestions or words of wisdom would be welcome.
It’s a pretty straightforward machine to operate. Get a couple of beats going, understand how kits/sounds work to avoid losing any of your stuff and read the Overbridge guide. Upload some of your favourite samples to enjoy those tasty filters. Look into using SDSDrop for painless sample transfer if you have a Mac.
Rytm sits well with other bits of kit of course, but the most fun I’ve had with it (was my first elektron buy) was with a pair of headphones loading in some samples and trying to build whole tracks.
Im travelling with my rytm, octatrack, virus c, and beatstep pro…hit a brick wall, think I’ll take my own advice, sit cross-legged in the corner with headphones and have some fun👍
