'Pelican' long-gun cases are ideal for gear

I’m moving internationally later this year and am planning to protect my treasured machines. Elektrons are going in a Pelican Air 1615 in layers (with lids) and I just got the Pelican Storm IM3200 for the Nord Wave. Not cheap of course but I’m happy with the selection that they offer, waterproof ballistic cases, foam that can be cut to size etc. The latch design is impressive. Now… I have to a figure out an ideal supportive arrangement for this Wave using the provided materials.

It’s perhaps a bit difficult to estimate how many Elektron boxes would fit in this IM3200 shown - given the various form factors up to now. Conceivably a live rig could be prepared, wired and practiced with in advance using such a case, with experimentation for playability, air flow and wiring. The lid opens 180 to a flat position and could be covered with something for stage presentation.

Just sharing what I found in case it’s useful to someone, have a look.

Yea I had those for my AR10s and M1A and noticed how I can also throw in my analog keys, analog rythme, and machinedrum.

If you troll cabelas.com they have sales on those cases pretty often. I remember seeing the. Go for 70 one time. I’ve use this case for camping and long range sessions and I know I abuse it. Whatever is inside stays in tact.

One other thing about hard rifle cases is they are meant to make sure the rifle doesn’t move around and get damaged. Think of a nice wooden stock rifle and how you want to protect it from the elements. It doesn’t matter what brand you get but as long as there is foam inside and the exterior is hard. Some sporting goods stores also have a house brand hard case for rifles and those take abuse as well.

The next holiday where these go on sale is Memorial Day in may.
