Parts per Banks confusion

I’ve got sample A loaded into a flex machine on track 1 of pattern A01, saved as part 1.

I go to pattern D1 and load sample B into the flex machine of track 1 there, saved as part 1.

But now when I go back to pattern A01, sample B is also loaded into track 1 there. Shouldn’t it be a different part as it’s on a different bank?

I read Merlin’s guide and it says “the OT can hold up to four parts per bank” but it looks like me changing part 1 in bank D is also changing part 1 in bank A. Am I doing something wrong here?

Didn’t you load sample B in sample A slot ?
Parts refer to slots. Slots are the same for all the project.

So what would be the regular way to have a new sample playing in track one when I change from A01 to D01?

Load sample A in slot 1, select it for track 1 of A01
Load sample B in slot 2, select it for track 1 of D01
