Yeah, it’s the same for me in the sense that I like to work with just one box whenever possible. But currently I’m in a bit of a creative rut, completely tired of my own ideas, so I’m looking for hardware that will take me into new directions. The Oxi seems great for that, I wish the deluge had similiar options, especially the harmonizer feature.
For me, the Oxi One with BLE and a battery is actually a fantastic solution and I don’t crave a ‘groovebox’ – I can just fire up an iPad and it’s a very lightweight solution. Of course, I can drive a eurorack or an actual groovebox with this thing, too.
But the battery and BLE turned out to be surprisingly big plus factors for the Oxi.
Please search this thread for Deluge. There’s already some material here.
Hard to compare the OXI with the Polyend Play because the Play doesn’t have a matrix sequencer. It’s just 8 stacked sequencer lanes, similar to the Multi mode of the OXI.
Anyone know what the current lead time is on these?
About Matriceal mode. The description says: “All parameters are randomizable with a simple tap
You even have a built in euclidean sequencer to quickly draw triggers”
I haven’t figured out how to randomise parameters except for the per step functions. Sounds like it should be possible to randomise pitch for example? Does someone know?
Also how can the Euclidean seq be accessed?
AHA: Just found the new manual so figured it out:) Hold step press 4th encoder
I’m curious as well!
I just ordered one last night, hoping I get in the mid november batch
I recently got the SQ64 and although I do enjoy it, its just so basic… I can think of a million features I’d like added and I know deep in my heart korg is unlikely to add anything any time soon, if ever.
Watched a ton of Oxi vids and came to the conclusion it’ll work much like a way more interesting/advanced version of the SQ64 if I want to use it that way
I have both, and it feels like that. IOXI One feels like an SQ64 v10.0.
The truth is after installing the new 3.0 firmware (at this moment in beta), the OXI takes your ideas places you never imagined and really fast, once you learn the UI. And always you discover a new way to implement a feature to a project.
Great unique tool.
Is 3.0 still in beta? I saw it’s in the firmware page now.
It’s the release candidate
It’ll be made public very soon.
Manual 3.0 is public already.
Edit: Ahh it’s up yeah, totally missed it. Announcement will be soon.
Now I REALLY hope im in the November batch
cant wait to check the new manual ! Thanks
And we can install without losing our projects and patterns right?
The many previous betas’ names said projects would be lost.
Yes, this one doesn’t delete projects etc.
Always remember to back up the relevant projects!
Just installed it! this thing is getting better and better, and more complicated. This would be a great time for someone (preferably oxi themselves) to upload a ‘tutorial to rule them all’ video 3.0? Is something like that in the planning @CarlosUnch?
Hey hey, glad you are in. The manual is up to date so be sure to have it at hand to help you understand how to use the new stuff.
Regarding the videos, I’m quite sure there will be some in the near future. However, It’s impossible to have a tutorial to rule them all. Do you know Cuckoo’s Octatrack tutorials? That goes over 5 hours I believe. AFAIK, no company with an instrument this deep is releasing its own video tutorials (let me know otherwise), because it’s very time/resource consuming. Left aside OXI company is tiny.
On top of that, there are recorded videos that some became obsolete just because OXI One is evolving so fast. That was another reason there hasn’t been any videos coming from OXI recently.
It looks 3.0 will set a plateau in development for a while other than bug fixes, that’s why I’m positive there’ll be some media coming out later on.
I’m sure more content creators will jump in because there’s definitely a demand, and 3.0 marks this tranquility that the videos they will make won’t be obsolete the following week
TLDR: Manual is your friend.
Is there a way to transpose all sequences at the same time live?
And is it possible to copy steps in Matriceal mode?
Hey Carlos
I now see patterns blinking/waiting when I want to launch them. When the new pattern is launched it starts from the beginning… Have you changed the basic behaviour of Oxi’s “jump” mode where patterns launch immediately and continue playing from the very next step that it has reached? I hope not. How do I return it back to the mode Oxi has always been working in?
(Changing punch-in setting doesn’t change this)
Umm, it seems it has been requested and seems to be more standard than the instant jump (using program changes for example wouldn’t happen until the next loop).
No idea if it got its own configuration setting or is just gone as it was.
Sorry you used it actively, I think they should follow the punch-in setting of the loaded pattern, being bar the default. Raise this topic on the forum so Manu reads about your use case.
Thanks yes this is very disappointing and was a unique feature of Oxi One. Also it was the behaviour since the beginning so I don’t think it’s fair to users to change something so fundamental to the sequencer. I’ll raise the topic.
