Oxi One Hardware Sequencer

In Poly mode the OXI One keeps the original timing pretty well for a polyphonic stream of notes.
But if you play the same note several times in the duration of one step, the first event may be missed if it falls in the exact same step.
How does Keystep Pro handles this situation? taking into account it’s also a step sequencer.

That would be more a control surface realm. We could make one hardware dedicated or not for the OXI. I’m afraid adding that new level of features could be confusing.
One of the next stops is to develop the MIDI control implementation.

Btw, new Stochastic tutorial made by @CarlosUnch!

Great video! It is really the best way of showing a new feature like this. Talking and showing what happens with the audio is most effective.

Video PSA:

Be aware that the video was recorded when octave and time division settings in the grid acted on top of locking the pattern, so the octave still changes with the pattern locked here.

This behaviour has changed so the octave and time division on the grid doesn’t introduce changes when the pattern is fully locked (rightmost columns at 0) as one would expect.

An alternative method for syncing to Ableton is the Circuit Happy Missing Link. It uses ableton’s Link protocol and serves up midi and analog clock. In my setup (pre-OXI) I used the Missing Link into the RK-006 to manage midi clock, and the analog clock to the modular, and it was rock solid. My band used it on stage as well and never had any drifting whatsoever.

I’m between studios right now but when I get a chance to set it up and test with the OXI.

The KS Pro did it pretty effortlessly. There is a key combo to turn the step quantization on or off, and the recordings were pretty spot on with it off. Not sure about the same note events on the same step, though, can’t recall if i did something similar, or the results.
Ordered the Oxi, so we’ll see

“Expected delivery early MAY 2022” Do you think it means that if I order now I can have it in one week or two ?

Just got my Oxi One today! Only just started fiddling with it so nothing too exciting sequencer-wise (Digitakt is doing all the percs), but I’m enjoying it so far… what I understand anyway haha

@Zelio They’ve been churning out units recently after a big delay on getting a part. They’ve not changed that date in a little while so my assumption is they’re expecting to catch up with their backlog - worth double checking but I think you could expect it this month for sure. In terms of shipping mine was sent with DHL Express, if it weren’t for the bank holiday weekend it would have only take a couple days!

Man, I pre ordered in February and haven’t heard a peep from these folks one single time yet.

Sorry to hear that man. I’d suggest reaching out to them - they’re really communicative.

I have high hopes for them, but not sure how they could be described as highly communicative, seeing as I’ve never received anything from them apart from PayPal acknowledging my payment in February. Not trying to be a wet blanket, but if I tied up folks dough for many months, I’d drop em a line every now and then

Hey! Usually emails are only sent for important matters (replies are always important). Drop them a line there, on the OXI Forum, or Instagram or FB if you have any question. Even Modwiggler and this thread receives updates quite often.
People doesn’t lie when they say we are very communicative, as stated above there are a lot of ways to stay up to date about manufacturing and development, just check for yourself

I’m not sure if the second batch is fully booked, you can send an email to confirm. In case it’s not, your order would be fulfilled during this month.

Mine was ordered start of Jan if that helps, so I expect them to be getting to you imminently.

You’ll get a dispatch notification when it’s left the building

nice setup, but no drum machine?

I’m also patiently waiting for more than a month now, but to be fair, @OxiInstruments did answer one of my previous emails telling me that it would be early may.

The question is…what is the definition of early may ;-)?
So here i am getting my hopes up of seeing a dispatch to Amsterdam soon…

Well, I wrote Oxi before posting here, but I will say I don’t think the onus is on me to figure out where my stuff is and why it’s behind schedule. I fully understand supply chain issues and I’m sure everyone at Oxi are wonderful folks. I’m just saying the occasional ‘keeping everyone in the loop’ email would go a long way

I’m looking forward to firmware 2.1 and the new Oxi product which may be unveiled at Superbooth!
