Oxi One Hardware Sequencer

I am fine with their business plan. Great updates cures a lot of grief for sure. I dont have either right now but I do have a Metropolix and now really only want another sequencer with an Accumulator so will have to save up for the Mk.2.

Here it is, just in time before the the weekend. :sunglasses:

Did you order the pipe and split also?

Nope, maybe at a later time.

It was confirmed to me that the Oxi Ones being sent out at the moment are the orders that did not include the accessories which will make things quicker in the long run rather then keep in warehouse. And of course these have been sent ahead of original end of month / June schedule

OXI has an impressive operational game for a smaller, boutique company. I guess making Midi focused products might be a touch more straight forward than stuff with audio? Thinking of Torso T1 vs. S4 experience as an example….

But oxi works with audio too with both Coral and Meta modules

What kind of setup and workflow are you using?

Oxi app is superbuggy right now with MKI. I was not able to backup my projects on mac. I‘m aware of some „naming trouble“, names are not visible in the app, i did rename the projects and after downloading (it downloaded only 3 of 5 projects) names were gone again and i was not „allowed“ to rename them again.

And my templates did not show up at all in the app.

It offered me the 5.01 FW update but no, i‘m definitely not brave enough to update MKI at this point.

Digitakt II, Prophet 6, a few modular elements, MPC 2500, some rack samplers and a few other synths. DT2 couldn’t be the main sequencer because of the 4 voices polyphony limitation, MPC misses the step sequencer and I didn’t want to work on multiple sequencers so had to find one for all. MIDI wise I have a MIO XL so a single MIDI I/O was enough. Everything then goes to an RME Fireface UFX II / Ferrofish 16 into Ableton for editing.

I was considering both the Cirklon and the Oxi One MK1 but the MK2 got announced so I went for it. So far so good but there’s a lot to learn before knowing if it was the right choice. Fun little machine.

Was surprised to see no AKAI machines and no JV-1080 in the available instruments. Hope some will be added.

Did you consider the Hapax, or did you think the Oxi One was better?

Isn’t the idea that user created instruments can be added so it should soon be lots of instruments added. That’s what think I read but not 100% sure.

Didn’t like the form factor of the Hapax so haven’t look too much into it.
In general I don’t really like LEDs all over the place but the Oxi isn’t too flashy. Also very compact and portable, which isn’t something I was particularly looking for at first but end up enjoying a lot.

Yes, just a little lazy to go through all the MIDI sheets and enter CCs one by one. But probably will. I don’t know if there’s an official way to gather those presets or if Oxi do them themselves.

Can someone help me out pls? I hope i just do something wrong…When i transform a sequencer from poly to Chord all mod lane bindings and LFO settings are gone. I can`t even copy them from one to another sequencer. Is this intentional or me being dumb as s…t ?

you might try their discord
