I recently bought a used Digitakt 1.
In Cubase 14 Elements, I can’t find Overbridge, even though it’s enabled on the Digitakt.
.
I’ve selected the Digitakt as my sound card in Cubase. Strangely, in the Studio window / VST Plugin Manager, the Digitakt appears with the other plugins and also appears in the “Default” window in the Drum folder, but it’s disabled in ASIO Guard.
I should mention that I don’t have this problem in Ableton Live.
I contacted Steinberg, but the operator referred me to Elektron.
You can’t use the DT as a soundcard when it is in Overbridge mode. You need to have a seperate audio interface. OB let’s you stream the main outputs and individual tracks directly into audio tracks in your DAW. It isn’t an audio interface in that setup.
It’s definitely my Motu sound card that’s activated, not the Digitakt. The problem is that the Digitakt plug-in isn’t present in Cubase, even though the plug-in’s VST3 files are in the correct folder: Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/Elektron. It’s a shame we can’t post screenshots. I don’t have this problem with Ableton Live. Anyway, thanks, I’ll look into Steinerg. Have a good day.
Doesn’t Cubase scan plugins and ‘blocklist’ ones it doesn’t like? I’ve only had Cubase installed once a couple of years ago and I remember a bunch of my plugins being flagged and hidden.
Could it be that you have to manually exclude the OB VST from this list?
" If Cubase isn’t showing your VST plugins, the quickest fix is opening Studio > VST Plug-in Manager, clicking the Rescan All (refresh icon), and checking the Blocklist to reactivate blocked plugins. Ensure VST3 files are in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 and that you have added custom VST2 folder paths in the Manager’s settings"
Even after rescanning the VSTs, the Digitakt is still not found in Cubase, nor in the Blocklist. It’s not a big deal, I have Ableton Live which I can work with. Thank you very much, because until now I always activated the Digitakt’s sound card at the same time as the Overbridge, so I had to unplug the speakers from my Motu sound card to plug them into the Digitakt. Sorry, I’m translating from French to English using Google. Have a great evening!
Are you on Windows? Check that your VST3s are in the correct path. The expected path is listed in my snippet above. Yours looks different though you could be on MacOS (though you mention ASIO Guard).
