Overbridge Volume Drop

Hi,

Is it normal that when I monitor my DT through Overbridge, the volume is low as f***?
(Windows 10/Overbridge Standalone/DT headphone out)

DT volume Max, Overbridge monitor gain Max, but still is like 40-50% lower than DT normal headphone out level. (and I don’t think it’s a good idea to record input gain all the way up in general practice, so it’s even lower.)

Is it normal or there’s some obvious thing I’m missing here? Somehow I’ve checked all the sources available and I couldn’t find any special setup for headphone volume setting when it comes to the setup with overbridge st.

If it has to be like that, maybe some work around to survive this sadness?
If not, any suggestions for good headphone amp solution?
(so far, I found ART Macromix interesting, someone using this?)

(btw, please don’t ask me why I should insist using headphone, it breaks my hearts. xd)

thanks!

It’s always been like that, I think it’s still too quiet but it’s been said it designed like that for headroom, yet the analog rytm is analog and doesn’t need to be. The DT is the only quiet one…

Just add a utility or gain in your daw, there has been many discussions about it

Thanks DanJames it’s clear now then.

On my modest laptop, when using overbridge DAW, it disconnects DT for no reason after a while, I guess CPU issue. So, DAW solution is not for me.

ONLY DT is quiet? or Digitone too? I plan to buy digitone next week, and if it’s like so, then I need to reconsider purchase decision.

headphone preamp then. any recommendations?

btw, I tried serach and couldnt find relevant discussion about this, my apologies if I brought up old topics.

If you use it standalone just monitor through the main outs / headphone out.

Check USB config in the settings on the digitakt to make sure you’re monitoring internally, not through overbridge.

For recording purposes it doesn’t matter as you can increase the volume of the recordings without issue

Hi, Dave

meaning that I uncheck ‘overbridge’ box? otherwise I don’t see monitoring option on USB config menu?

I mean audio routing menu (used to be situated in the USB config hehe)

yo,

dunno if it’s what you meant but on audio routing menu I couldn’t find initernal mornitoring option BUT found ‘usb to main (db)’ option set to 0db.
crank up all the way up to +18db.
much better.

great. I think I should call you ‘the man of solutions’ by now.

thanks!

Not what I meant no, but that works as well. You are still monitoring overbridge in stead of internal sound though. :). Sometimes that’s desirable of course. Certainly when working in a daw so you can hear any FX applied in the daw.

The option I meant is called ‘int to main’. If you see it to on you’ll monitor the internal sound. Then in the capture options (tape button) turn off monitoring for the main outs and individual channels. Otherwise you monitor your sound double.

Happy to help

yop. I tried the both option. decent.
and also tried daw option on better PC. very attractive option. too bad I bought an ipad instead of a laptop…:frowning: overbridge on ios plz!!
anyway,
so, far quick and easy solution seems to be +18db way.
thanks a lot for help, saved my sunday.

sincerely,
