OverBridge for OT in future?

would be nice

Elektronauts - Octatrack - Overbridge for Octa?

Elektronauts - Octatrack - New octatracks or what?

Elektronauts - Octatrack - Overbridge and Octatrack

new Octatrack v.2 just for Overbridge? - Elektronauts

Elektronauts - Octatrack - Latest on overbridge with OT

Maybe you missed it?

Its called Rusty to the Rescue.

:joy:

You can ask as often as you want but it will never happen.

Any technical foundation to that statement? Is the HW not able to cope with it??

Elektron has said repeatedly that it will never be supported. I think they discussed why from a technical perspective but the takeaway is that it’s never coming.

The current hardware is maxed out with no space left for new code. They have also said it’s a finished product.

The only way you would see it is if they come out with a new version of the Octatrack. I’m thinking it would be a completely new product vs an update to the current one. The hardware simply cannot have overbridge added.

MKII was all about using new third party components that weren’t being phased out due to end of life cycle of those now old components. It was so they could keep making Octatrack a for a long time as it is.

It’s completed though so it’s not going to change now (the main point).

Tx Aircyck for your thoughts. I love the OT but also need to know our options and when we’d be up for a new hardware version. Elektron please just be square with us. It’s just how it is. A Merry one!

See the statements posted on the forum by @Jon (Jon Martensson of Elektron):

That would be a smart decision. I would buy it in a heart beat.
Seems like the concept for the OT was way ahead of it’s time. It’s probably the most unique sampler that anyone ever produced.

But what would Elektron have to do, to make an Octatrak MK3, marketable? Hmmm…
Could you imagine an Octatrack with a Joystick instead of a crossfader! Think of what one could do with two extra axis of parameter manipulations. Or maybe two crossfaders. Also. imagine what you could accomplish if you could lock midi or OSC params to the crossfader. It would be yet another dimension.
