Overbridge DT & audio interface

Hi everyone,
I am new in the Elektron’s world and this my first post, maybe my question is going to be silly so I apologize in advance.
Using DT from a couple of days and today I tried to link it with Live via OB.
It actually worked very well but I noticed it only worked if I use DT as audio interface.
Tried as well to send the outputs from DT to inputs of my audio interface (6i6 focursite),and 6i6 out to speakers, but it didn’t work.

Am I doing something wrong or OB works only if DT is the audio interface?
I have more hardwares linked to 6i6 and would like to keep using it If possible.
Thank you

Im not sure in live, but in Cubase, you have to click on the VSTi tab, then enable all channels and master channel.

When you say you tried to send DN outs to inputs on your audio interface, you are talking about routing within Live, right?

If so, at least with Live 10 and Mac OS 10.14, I am able to config the Digitone as the input sound card and my Xone DB2 as the output sound card. In that configuration, I can then have a Track where DN output is routed to Master (aka a stereo pair on my Xone DB2 sound card) with no problem.

Since you can only have one input audio interface configured (unless you try getting into aggregate devices), the above configuration means that you will lose using the inputs on your 6i6 for recording. Of course, you can easily change the configuration in Live and choose your 6i6 as the input interface when you need to. The only scenario that won’t work without creating an aggregate device is if you want to use both the 6i6 and DN as input audio interfaces at the same time.

You can also, obviously, route the physical outputs of your DN into your 6i6 and go that route.

Not sure if this helps, cuz I may have massively misunderstood your question, and I am myself a new DN user.

Cheers

I will try to check it out then, thank you for the info.

I believe this is only until the Overbridge VST for Digitone exists though…
After that the plug in takes care of the DN audio over usb and you can use any interface you want at the same time.

oh hang, on - got confused as other post said “DN” - for Digitakt, if you have the VST plug in and Overbridge engine running you should be able to run another interface at the same time as streaming all the DT audio over usb.

Yes thank you very much,it helped and I config that as the first set up you mentioned, and it working, just had to change something in Live and it goes now well.

Cheers

Yes thank you I just figured it out and it is working

Question for you: Let’s say you use OB to stream audio from a DT/DN as input to an Ableton track. How would you ever be able to run more than one soundcard as an input interface without creating an aggregate device? Live only let’s you choose one input and one output interface.

Overbridge streams through the vst - the inputs appear without choosing it as an audio interface,. You can still only choose one audio interface, but it doesn’t have to be the Digitakt.

I realise this sounds like witchcraft, but it is true.

Wow, that’s cool. I wasn’t aware of that, since (obvs), the DN VST is nowhere in sight.

Thanks!
