Overbridge, Digitone II, LFO Bug

Hey all, I just started using Overbridge today, and even though things work, I noticed a really weird bug.

My orchestral sounds often have Hold LFOs to FM parameters, so they sound controlled different each time a note is pressed.

The song I wanted to record has a slow Triangle LFO, Hold Mode → Ratio All.

When Overbridge is activated, this is stuck, and the sound keeps being the same instead of changing.

Anyone else experienced something like this?

Just tried and could not reproduce. On win 11, ob 2.19.4

Later it became unstuck, then it happened in another pattern with another sound (also Tri and Hold Mode). Extremely weird.

I’ve had a similar problem with midi CCs blockîng LFOs or other parameters of other machines. There is some bugs with the midi implementation.

Were you messing around with midi CCs ?

I actually did nothing at all. My goal was to stream/record the 16 tracks into Reaper, Reaper being just a Multitrack Tape Deck.

  • Install Overbridge
  • Reaper, Blank Project
  • Add a Track, add Overbridge, DNII etc.
  • Play

I just did the same steps from scratch, and it happens exactely the same.

I just noticed that it get’s unstuck when I mute all tracks (on the DNII) except the offending one o.O

When I unmute everything, it get’s stuck again O.o

Another try, 7 tracks muted. Sound is stuck.

Have you checked if you have some kind of unintended midi loopback ? If I were you, I’d put the midi input from setting on “disabled” and also disable clock send and receive, transport send and receive, as well as program change receive, just to test it.

Thank you so much! Either that did the trick, or it became randomly unstuck like yesterday. I hope for the former :stuck_out_tongue:

Unfortunately, it still behaves weird. Now sometimes it moves between two states, or is stuck in one state for a while, and then alternates between two states …

I just recoreded a bit, and only when ALL other tracks are muted on the DNII, it got unstuck.

Yeah, as I said, I’ve had a very similar bug when I made a randomizer in Bitwig, sending tons of midi CCs to the DN2. Turns out the DN2 don’t like receiving a lot of midi informations in one time. Also, there’s some weird things when an lfo don’t work anymore and you mute a machine from another track, the lfo is not blocked anymore.

Do you have some midi machines on your tracks ? If not, I’d check Reaper and see if there’s some problems with the midi channel, or some automation on an overbridge parameter.

It’s really just Digitone II with synth machines. Nothing with Midi.
No MIDI connected, just the USB.
I also deactivated everything with sync, including temp & transport sync from Overbridge.
I set all Midi Tracks to OFF on the DNII itself.
No Midi objects, no Automation, nothing in Reaper - except of course the audio tracks.

Then it might be the Elektron gods trying to tell you something.
