Hi there
I’ve fired up the AR mk2 for the first time in a while today to work on a track that’s in 3/4. AR and Overbridge are both the latest versions.
Overbridge sync has always been a bit dodgy for me and never quite stayed in time as much as I’d like, but I thought I’d try it again given everything’s had an upgrade.
The combination of Overbridge, AR and 3/4 time though just doesn’t seem to work. It all starts off fine, but as you migrate around the project and timeline, playing different bits of the track, the sync goes off and the ‘1’ of the bar starts moving around. I can’t think why this should keep happening, but it does.
Patterns and metronome on the AR are all set to 12/16 or 3/4 as you’d expect; it shouldn’t be rocket science. As it is, the only way to get the AR to play reliably in time with the timeline is to run MIDI clock out from Logic. Given the absurd amount of (over-)engineering on display between Overbridge and the AR, this is a pretty ridiculous situation… 1980s technology working more reliably in 3/4 than 2020s!
Anyone got any tips or tricks or ways to make OB behave? I’d prefer not to be relying on Logic MIDI sync as even that drifts depending on plugin load. (I’ve tried Clock, Clock+transport and Song Position modes on OB and all exhibit the same confusion over which beat of the bar is beat 1, eventually.)
Thanks
