Overbridge 2.0.16 Public Beta

Have you enabled OB mode in USB Config?

Ha, no, didn’t even know that was a thing. Thx!

I hope this is the right place. I have 2 questions about Digitakt/Overbridge:

  • is it possible to sample input signals via overbridge?
  • how do I record the fx for each track? there was a workaround but I forgot where it was…

1 - plug external sounds into digitakt in , and in the digitakt app , select the casette icon.
you can monitor/record the inputs.

  1. you can route fx to main outs, track1 to 8 can use their own channels.

if you want only track 1 fx , you would need to mute tracks 2 to 8 … you cant record tracks 1 to 8 fx induvidually unless you mute the ones you dont want.

that way , you’ll have dry track and FX only to use within ableton etc.

simply - yes you can do both , and much more info on how to do it is littered throughout the forums for routing FX to main outs etc.

Hello, I am dictating this note since I have a broken right hand so I have to keep it a little short. I recently installed the new Overbridge Beta as well as the new firmware for the Digitakt. The previous overbridge Beta was working fine and I believe I have checked all the necessary boxes in terms of the installation yet the Digitakt is not being recognized or found by the overbridge software. I see one message in the over bridge control panel that says “if you have connected your device and still get this message, ensure that you have allowed the driver to run in system preferences security and privacy”.

I am afraid I do not quite know what to do to enable this. Has anyone had this experience and do you know how to allow that driver to run in system preferences on the Mac?

Thank you for any help!

Go to the security pane during the first 15 minutes of turning on the machine

see here for example

I do not understand … I uninstalled the old version … I installed the new one … after that in addition to the download remains halved, in the control panel of OB gives me the version 1.11 beta6: - |

Having an issue with Analog Heat MK1 and Ableton. Freezing or rendering a track using the plugin results in negative latency (of about 45ms). See:

Any ideas? Perhaps I’m missing something.

Same here. :frowning: Hope this gets solved soon. I guess the main focus is still on windows and Ableton.

You cannot freeze or render tracks with the plugin in Ableton. You need to record it to a different track in real-time. Freeze and render is assuming that the host/DAW has full control of the plugin and can manipulate time. Since there is an analog unit at the other end that cannot see the future like a computer in this case can, it will simply not work. I some host/DAWs it works, in most it will not and it’s out of our control.

Got it - I figured. Thanks!

Does anyone experience any sudden freezes that ends up with a LOUD noise that is constant with RYTM Mk1? This only happens when using OB but that’s how usually it is used in my setup. The only way to stop the noise is to turn off the VST, restart the hardware and then it works regularly again. The hardware is still responding when the hang/freeze happens, so I am suspecting OB is the culprit, this has been an ongoing issue for me though but I was hoping that this would be solved with OB2.

Zoom is not saving nor there is recall for it… Every time i close and reopen the plugin window, its 100% again.

Very true. Zoom not right.

I still have trouble with occasional and highly annoying glitches/dropouts using Overbridge 2 beta. Any solutions to this? I’m using overhub to connect A4, RYTM and Heat (all MK1), could that have to do with it?

Hello

Apologies if this has already been covered in one of the several threads, but the levels Im getting over USB from the Digitakt in Ableton are very low. Kicks at -24dB etc. The mixer in the Overbridge plugin is maxed out. What else can I do the improve this? Having to gain boost every piece of recorded audio is a bit boring

Thanks

Thanks, I’m now one step closer. Overbridge on Ableton is now talking to the A4MKII.

However when I play a clip in Ableton a pattern on the A4MKII starts playing, as well as the notes from the Ableton midi clip.

Q: How can I play a a midi clip in Ableton without launching a pattern on the A4MKII?
Thank you in advance.

Not possible, if you are using the A4 to sequence it’s basically like a second DAW that syncs. Options are to use a blank pattern, or do all of your sequencing in the DAW using the A4 as a sound module. Doing the latter you could still p-lock parameters to steps but just not use note triggers.

Just wanted to stop by and say that my DigiTone worked flawlessly in both Bitwig and VCV 1.0 via Overbridge!

Access to individual audio outs through one cable and without a soundcard is pretty damn awesome!

Rytm Mk1 : After 15 Min approx Overbridge loses its connection and the symbol turns red. Restarting the Rytm works…oh and there’s a 10 second dropout every 3-4 Min while running in Ableton 10.1 on a Mac 12 Core @ 256 Buffer. High Sierra 10.3.2 /Not used as sound-card/ The ONLY Elektron attached.
