I was wondering since I recently got the OT, and been a MD user for many years.
I have discovered that the OT doesn’t seem to be able to sequence some of my drum machines that have the capability of changing sounds controlled by midi CC, or rather the change in sound doesn’t happen on the step i put in the midi CC change but rather on the next step. The MD is working fine in that respect and can change sound on the step I change midi CC, like one would expect.
Did you have this issue?
When I am sequencing some synths they also sound different, with the MD i am able to have really fast gated sequences, while on the OT, it seems that the notes doesn’t cut off in the same way.
Could this be because of some midi “note off” difference and have you experiences the same?
I believe this (the CC thing) is because OT sends plocked CC after the note on message. I always thought this is to make notes go out as accurately as possible and not be drowned in a sea of CC messages. It is annoying. I don’t know about your other question… can you elaborate? I can look into it tomorrow.
Ah, thank you so much, so basically I would probably have to put in a trigless trig (Midi CC) before the actual trigger.
I think in regards to the note difference when sequencing synths that the OT sends note off and the MD doesn’t, I am not 100% sure, I just noticed the difference after a few sessions in the studio, for example when sequencing the SH01A and the MB33 Retro, especially the MB33 sounds very different. I am not able to make sequences like this with the OT and MB33. https://youtu.be/HrcLYmw-2Mo
