Id rather play with OT but it just sounds too bad!
I would not want to convince you or anyone to like it.
Bad sounding in your opinion, which is just that an opinion, not backed up with a single example.
Iād actually really love to hear a sample that the OT canāt capture accurately, because I have heard so many people talk about it yet not one exampleā¦ā¦
If you said āI donāt like the sound of the Octatrack or its fxā that is very different than āthe Octatrack sounds bad because the converters are cheapā one is an opinion, one is an ill informed statement.
No. I already said that the converters are good enough.
Itās the processing, the software part!
Thatās great dude.
Funny about these conversations, that somehow in the back of my mind it make me think. Do I need to develop a new hardware sampler by myselfā¦
So are you saying that you think the OT captures samples well enough, but that you donāt like the sound of the processing?
Yes
Maybe there the possibility your OT is broken. You need to play your files back from another OT.
I see, did you not listen to any demos of it before purchasing it?
You expected to get a sampler and decent efx for less than half the cost of a decent efx unit?
What?! What decent efx box costs 2700 euros?
I did! I thought it was a user error //or a small pool of examples
Things like air, space, clear, clean and accuracy are important to me. Everyone is listening to other monitoring and audio interface set-ups. Online examples doesnt say that much this way. There has to be a guideline of reference to make it so.
Any decent efxā¦Eventide, Bricastiā¦what do you consider decent efx? Now Iām not so sure you know what sounds good or not, I was leaning your direction on this topic. Only effects I use is Eventide Orville, so I canāt compare to anything else.
Actually 1200 Euros (or 1300 - 1400 with tax depending where you are).
Well, thereās your problem, cause those are mutually exclusive. ![]()
The first one is actually necessary for sound waves to travel.
The second one is a place where sound doesnāt exist.
Also, one is inside the other⦠![]()
Iāll let myself out nowā¦
This comparison makes no sense to me! You can find free vst efx that sound really good and some cheap ones sound excellent! I understand that a 10 yrs old dsp chips canāt handle everything but the efx algos, (mainly?) the time stretch and pitch shifting and really bad imo
I know! But he said āhalf the priceā ā¦so double the price of OT
Ahh ok, my maths is not very good, almost as bad as my hearing
