OT Slicing help needed: Creating custom slice grids

I am trying to create multi-sample wav files to slice up in Octatrack. I have been able to slice up a file when it is a standard 64-slice file, but what about when you have a 58-slice file? Is the only way to slice it up to edit each slice to fit the samples throughout the file, or is there a faster way?

I have a sample library that I am trying to transfer to the octatrack. For this example, I have 122 Kick samples. I have created 1-64 as one file with a sample every 16th note and that makes an even 16-bar file. I sliced that up by creating a slice grid of 64 in the octatrack.

Now I have kicks 65-122 left to deal with. 58 samples on every 16th note equaling 14.5 bars. Is there an easy way to slice this up on the octatrack?

Make a 64 grid chain and using empty slices might be useful?!

So for that would I record my file for a full 16 bars, even if there are only 14.5 bars if audio, and slice it as 64?

yep

Thanks, that is pretty simple and it works.
