OT Mk1 Missing Folders

I recently got a 64gb Sandisk CF Card to transfer my stock CF card to, and after copying the whole stock card over I’ve noticed that one of my break sample folders has all the subfolders missing in the OT (on the new card). When I look at it on my computer in USB disk mode I can see that all the subfolders are definitely in there… If I open the main sample folder in the OT file manager I can’t see the subfolders either, but if I try to copy the main folder it does indicate that all the separate files are in there, by the file count. I just can’t read anything that’s in the subfolders, or see the folders at all. If I open a project that uses any of those hidden files I get an error in the LOG file stating that it can’t find it.

I’ve tried deleting and re-adding those subfolders but they still don’t show up on the OT. If I copy all those same subfolders and put them in a different folder of their own I can read them just fine… But I don’t want to have to go back through like 40 projects and relink all my break samples.

I’ve also tried formatting the new card and starting the whole process from scratch, to no avail.

The same subfolders, in the same directory on my old card, still show up and work fine. I just don’t want to have to keep using that card cause it’s full. From what I can tell, that particular folder is the only one with this issue. One weird thing I’ve noticed tho is that either the OT or my PC has created a whole bunch of “.asd” files next to all my samples in every folder, and I have no idea what that’s about or if it has anything to do with the problem I’m having?

Thanks for any suggestions you’ve got!

What is the name of the sub-folder?
Is it protected?
How many siblings does it have?
How many children does it have?

Ableton Live sample analysis files.

There are 36 subfolders in the parent folder, each with anywhere between a dozen to a few hundred samples, some of which have more subfolders within them. There are also 1,378 random wav files that aren’t in any subfolders. The wavs show up and the folders don’t. Upon close inspection, it seems like all the OT folders show up as Read Only when I look at them on my computer, and despite changing that in the folder/subfolder preferences they still say they’re read only when I check after applying the changes. Maybe Windows did something weird to the files? Should I try redoing this whole process using my Mac maybe?

Maybe try moving some (e.g. 400) or so of those out of there.

I’d take a backup of your Set first though of course.

I put all those random wavs in their own subfolder and voila! All the subfolders are back. Don’t know why that worked but it did, thanks so much for your help

I’m guessing the OT has problems displaying more than 1,000 items in one folder or something.
