OT Minimising clicks techniques

I’d really like to know if there’s any techniques for minimising clicks when using the OT to move around samples.

I like to use a lot of scrubbing within very short loops and lfos to further move around the audio. I don’t use slices as they feel too static for what I want so often end up with a very clicky effect.

I’ve tried ways of reducing it but not sure if it’s even possible. I know there’s zero crossing in the editor but I play the OT remotely from a faderfox SC4, recording the knob movements.

If there’s a crafty way of doing this it would be amazing. Sometimes I like the clicks anyway!

AMP page Attack, Release, Hold set to min
Pipo Loop
Mono samples
Add hihats to cover clicks
Microtiming Trig Counts retrigs have envelopes
Real time mangling in audio editor can be very efficient.

Well prepared slices can be click free.
Do you use start points ?

I think slices is the only way to ensure it successfully but I find it too fiddly and time consuming. Maybe I should be more patient but it kills the flow for me.

Do you just mean the start point in the audio editor?

I meant Playback page Start, but Audio Editor Start / End can be used too.
I had interesting results playing samples with lfos on start, then change AE Start. Retrigs with Trig Counts in this Amen Break mangling test :

Yes I use the playback start page a lot.

I’m just thinking:

  • I record my audio into a flex track with eg: 64 slices
  • I want to scrub through the start point and record my knob movement (like I would if I used a one-shot trig)

The problem is that there needs to be a Trig on every step? Is there another way.

Some impressive mangling there btw!

Start is changed only with new trigs. You can set them as you like, but 4th max for me. Usually I use 8th, 16th, trig counts.
Try with 16th, scale X2, Hold 0, Rel below 64.

I prefer stereo.
