OT lessons?

I understand what he is saying (and it’s a good waay to explain it), but maybe this was just with an older version on octachainer… What I am saying is that octachainer didn’t only “glue” the samples together, it also placed a tiny bit of silence between the samples and placed the slice points in all at once. That’s how I did it.

Cool, I figured, but you never know, was feeling greedy, haha. Torn between the AH and the Boum.

That’s an option among v3 new others indeed.
Fade ins, out, Megabreak…

I’d try both. I want a Boum too.

Hey will octachain convert 96k to 44k?

No, idea. I just put my samples in and it works. You should download and try. It’s free and a tiny file.

Octatrack 64 breakbeat x 16 slices megabreak of doom:

Apparently limited to 16x16 in Octachainer.

Yeah… I have to look into this.

It should be fine, the only issues around statics slice points is when they are accessed by xfader or LFO and even then it depends. I think a kick chain is going to be fairly short anyway, so even with LFO or crossfader it will possibly be fine, generally longer statics are where the issues arise, but not with P-Locks.

If you are on Windows use wavosaur to batch convert the files, it also does a ton of other useful stuff and is free/donationware, highly recommended!

Edit: Then when converted use the excellent Octachainer, wavosaur doesn’t make chains, but can be used to prep samples first, such as remove dead space, change rate, convert to mono etc.

No cheese here. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Still not sure what the best batch conversion option is for Mac users, but I recommend Ocenaudio (free) for manual file edits, trimming, normalising, conversions etc. There’s no batch stuff currently, but it gets a lot of updates and it’s nice to use:
https://www.ocenaudio.com

I had a huge number of files to convert and after getting fed up with Audacity and a trial of WaveLab Elements (frustrating!) I did most of what I needed to do with a free trial of Twisted Wave, which has excellent batch options. I found it to be rock solid, but it’s not cheap:

For the iPad interested, there’s a new audio editor app called Auditor, which does batch conversion. It’s early days but the developer has a good rep, having made the LayR synth:

And yes, Octachainer is great!

Can’t wait for OctaEdit V2 to drop, though.

Same here, still it will be worth the wait

OctaEdit v2 has a new Chainer module; with some new features and functionality.

I have also developed a standalone Chainer application.

Both of them are cross compatible with each other as well as other programs like MDEdit for example.

Basically I’ve created a cross-application, cross platform file format.

Better be :expressionless:
