OT as midi keyboard/sequencer

Hi ,

Iā€™m about to buy an OT , but Is it possible to control ableton instruments (or any vst) with octatrack ?

ex to connect OT midi out to ableton midi in , program a pattern on OT who will play the ableton instrument (or any other vst instrument) ? then record a midi track on ableton ?
