My A4 is slaved to the OT, with transport and program chnages synced. But when I tweak a track setting on OT, midi messages are being transmitted to the A4 as well, often causing unwanted changes of A4 as well. Any idea how to avoid such a situation, narrowing the communication to transport/prg changes only?
To begin with, in the OT’s PROJECT > MIDI > CONTROL menu, set AUDIO CC OUT to “INT”.
Damn, that is sooo obvious! Thank you Peter!
Personally, I chose to turn off transmission of the A4’s knobs over midi ports after experiencing sync problems with older outboard gear (particularly drum machines). Anything older than late 90’s gear will probably get flooded with CC messages to the point that the CPU will not be able to keep up. When that happens, you lose MIDI clock sync very quickly. Timing has been rock solid on everything since setting the A4 knobs to internal only. That’s why, for sync, it’s really hard to beat DIN24 or CV.
thank you for asking this! i was having the exact same issue and came here to make a post. it’s frustrating that this is the default behavior. i am going to try the fix tomorrow. in my instance, the cross-fader was affecting an arpeggio on the analog four in very strange ways.
