OS Update: Tonverk 1.0.1

It saves all the changes? I want this as a feature

my feel as well

Then why releasing a product when you know is full of bugs?

Because if you hold back a release until you’ve fixed every conceivable issue you’d probably never get it and they’d run out of money building it

Thanks elektron - 100% faith in your focus on this!

Also thanks for the peek into the future comments in your post. Helpful to know you’re on the case and that there will be ‘exciting new things’!

Not sure releasing a product that gets many returns - and is that buggy (we don’t speak about small bugs here) that you cannt achieve what it is said to - is a smart move either.

Anyway, good luck to the ones who bought it, i find it pretty scary for that price range…

Could be that the issue goes deeper than anyone expected. :man_shrugging: Let’s hope it gets fixed in the October patch.

The way it was at launch, sometimes you’d end up with PERF mode on while powering up and any changes you made before shutting down were wiped once you moved to normal mode.
But at least once I was able to recover everything by reloading the project that I had saved before shutting down, so nothing was erased, just restored to the latest save point instead of the point before entering PERF. I have no idea what’s going on with that thing.

Someone said in another thread that there is a way to save the PERF mode settings to a pattern, but who knows if that behavior is intended either…

I’m convinced that Elektron has really good people. It’ll be all right…

that is as it can be done on the DTII iirc. If it can persist across turn offs, even unintentionally is interesting as it would be nice to have it on globally on a project (perf mode) so all patterns share the same page settings.

anyway, sounds funky + interesting

I think so, too.

There’s also a really good chance they have been working on the Jitter/Latency issue for quite a while.

However, in terms of a timeline for future fixes that is not necessarily reassuring.

ummm anyone else’s sd adapter getting locked by simply inserting it into the tv???
kinda hilarious…

otherwise great update. tv seems overall more stable and fast. i was kind of expecting this quick series of updates and im sure tv will become great… in time.

The graphics on that SD card holder are suspiciously similar to those on Fors’ Retur :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I was speaking about software issues, not hardware.

Summary

More likely to be influenced by 70s-80s designs like the old ‘It’s A Sony’ logo (appeared on VHS recorders, tapes, TVs, radios etc) than a Fors plugin.

the weird thing is that Roland is not releasing a Sampler but a Drum Machine…or maybe they are not and it something to compete more against TV??like a groovebox?

in my opinion it seems more like a competition of who is releasing the new gadget first and secure that big slice of Q4 sales that every business aim at…

For me too eventhough setting it was quick. My 2 other main pain points are the lack of mutes in song mode and the sidechain setup.

But thanks Elektron for the quick updates!

Wow I didn’t know that. So the new MPCs have latency when you trigger a pad or just when you record them?

Wonder if the older ones like the 1000 have that as well. Have to guess no.

My TV update has gone smoothly. Happy so far. Just need the sync to get tightened up.

Mb its only 5, 6, i clock the mpc through the syntakt, and i compensate on the hapax (hapax, syntakt, mpc). Maybe electron can include clock offset also.

Yes. Very annoying you have to insert the card at an angle. Never experienced this with my cameras.

This happened to me today after the update exactly as you described. Luckily as you say after reloading the project it was back! But then I had another bug where a subtrack and a multiplayer track swapped samples, which I reported (and was able to recover from!).
