My transfer app crashes as soon as I press the ’explore’ tab. Any one else experience this? I’m on Mac btw
For mono they could add a new machine and call it Mono Machine.
Seriously though,
I understand why the Elektron team is taking their time with this. For most of us this seems like a no-brainer, but you realise that the actual implementation is more complex if you give it a little thought:
-
Adding the ability to convert a stereo sample that is already on the device to mono, with 3 options: L to mono, R to mono, sum L+R to mono. The 3 options are necessary because of potential phase cancellation issues, and for artistic reasons. This should also work nondestructively, meaning you can always still revert to the stereo version if you want. (This introduces potential interface challenges I won’t go into.)
-
Add the ability to convert to mono directly during sampling. This would be there for those who are prefer having native 1-channel mono samples on their device for space reasons. Through resampling you could also destructively convert to mono whatever stereo samples you already have on the device.
Doesn’t really help you, but shows up thats its not a general issue, with Mac OS: MacBook Air M1, Sonoma 14.5, Transfer 1.8, no issues at all.
That’s curious. I’m running a MacBook Pro M1, Sonoma 14.5, Transfer 1.8 and of course 1.02 on the Digitakt II
but make sure it ha s 6 voice poly mode
criticism and discussion is fine… but would be better in the relevant thread.
Ok
Case closed.
Yep, I’m still using both, 24 tracks mono/stereo DT1 for drums and control external synths, DT2 for everything else! But since they discontinued production of DT1, I guess they will bring mono sampling in future updates to DT2.
+1 vote for TRIG:Note modulation. Would be nice to way to add some in key randomness.
Just make a sample chain of the sound with pitch variants (made To whatever scale you want)
Use an lfo to select sample slot … it’ll sound like a different pitch
This can be done today - no need for feature request / waiting / complaining it’s not done / waiting / etc.
if you really need it … do it today and move on with your life
Only suitable for samples though … not midi
With DT1 being discontinued I could see them adding basic mono sampling to Syntakt now. I actually think it would be cool if they just added like 48 sample sounds that you could tweak similar to monomachine bbox machine. This would make Syntakt a mono powerhouse but may compete too much with rytm at that point.
Thanks elektron
Still waiting for mono sampling, I was so sure it would be addressed in the first update. Hopefully it comes soon, the workarounds are hard enough that I don’t use it at all right now. Might have a look for a mon splitter to put the audio in both channels.
is anyone able to move folders or files around directly in the transfer 1.8.10 app? I cannot seem to get it to work on the latest transfer app and digitakt II 1.02 on mac os ventura 13.6.7
Hi all, just received the Digitakt 2 an hour ago, I’m currently updating it’s taking a while however can anyone tell me how to delete all internal banks (blank canvas)? I would like to wipe all factory patterns if possible.
Thanks
You can start a new Project, the factory patterns won’t be there.
However the factory samples you have in Bank A & B are shared across every project and I am not 100% sure you can replace them, but I might be wrong.
I know you can’t export them from the machine.
Aha thank you mate I wouldn’t want to replace the great factory content just start with a fresh blank canvas of patterns it’s been a while since my last Digitakt, I look forward to all weekend on this
When you do a new project from scratch, there are 16 samples that are preloaded and nothing else.
You might want to start from a default project you prepare with your favorite samples, toggle it as not writable so that you don’t save on top, but have to save as new.
The whole thread should interest you btw
Thanks a lot I’m gonna have a read of that thread today
Whelp, looks like the Attack sound Popping issue is still present in the latest update. Since we can’t adjust our Grid Slices I was hoping that adjusting the Attack timing would fix the Popping sound I hear…but nope…it’s still present on sample playback.
