OS Update: Digitakt II 1.02 & Transfer

Just took a little glimpse…

Have both. Thanks for a reason to keep OG

I’m really hyped Elektron squashed some bugs and I’m digging the Scale feature on the NOTE knob.

I’m still bummed you can’t keep sample preview on indefinitely. The bugfix was for it to stay on after a restart. Can we just keep it on, please?

Kind of a buzz kill to constantly turn it on every time I go hunting for new samples.

Welcome! 3rd one down on the bug fix list.

Nice to see this update with many of the bugs addressed. The thing that remains unclear for me however is if they fixed the +Drive error when too many folders where loaded making sampling and adding new files impossible. Going to try now if it still persists but this for me that was the biggest problem of them all and I see no mention of it.

Edit: Nevermind, I see it addressed in the main text rather than release notes just now.

Good to see an update. I’m in the process of rebuilding my setup so I can’t test this bug.

Does anyone know if the ATTACK audio popping issue is still present when playing Grid Slices on a sample? In the previous build, audio would consistently POP when playback occurred on the Grid Slice on the return loop.

I can hopefully test it this weekend as well, but am just curious if this has been fixed.

Cheers!

Thank you Elektron HQ! I bet there will be a large second wave of purchases now.

I’ll probably be in the third wave. :yum: Still lots of work to do on my DT OG.

I’d love to know more details about this

Can someone explain to me the utility/how to use this like I’m 5 years old?

If you’re making a track in C and you set the keyboard scale to C major, you can then decide whether you want to scroll through notes in the c major keyboard scale or in a chromatic scale for the note parameter without having to press/turn the encoder. So if you intend to frequently add random notes and you want the dominant scale behavior to be chromatic you can set that to turn and keyboard scale to push/turn, if you prefer to have it the opposite way you can select the reverse.

It’s just a quality of life / timesaving thing, but for people doing a lot of note based sequencer entry it could save a lot of time and make it easier to link scale notes for melodic progressions on the fly.

LoL didn’t even know that we can press/turn the encoder to scroll notes in the scale, time to read the manual I guess

Just having a personalize menu is pretty cool to begin with.

Yeah I guess it is a lot like direct jump if you treat different pages as different patterns (which is very possible now that there are 8 pages). That’s awesome

Page selection is really neat, I haven’t managed to break it with my tests.
It’s extremely useful while composing to be able to select a few pages.

Yay!

After the update I have problems with the screen. Flickering stripes. Very irritating. Does anyone else have this behavior?

Check that thread, unfortunately it sounds like you’re experiencing the same problem but this is the first time I’ve heard of it showing up following an update so maybe there’s a clue in that.

Report it to Elektron through the trouble ticket submission system after logging in to your elektron.se website user account and confirming your info is up to date. The warranty should get you sorted and they may want to hear that this happened following the update.

If you have only had it for a very limited amount of time, you may get a quicker resolution going directly through the retailer you purchased the dtII from.

I’d class only being able to sample a kick drum in stereo a bug, no grey area there.
