Ok now there’s a chance i could buy it at 40% off
Slim but not nonexistent
where?
Interested in buying an XY.
Several XY’s for sale in Denmark, Europe for around 1.300€. www.DBA.dk
Just played an hour with the new drumline engine. It’s awesome! Really love the extra random LFO that’s accessed with shift and the dark grey encoder. The animation are cute af as well.
Dunno Black Friday maybe
What?!?
It’s a bit weird to me that it needed this update for you to give it another chance.
If you weren’t able to make good music with it before, this will probably not help you so much.
My gripe with it was that I made too much good stuff, but getting it into Ableton to make it sound a bit more professional was a pain.
Now with multi USB that’s not a problem fortunately.
And the drum synth is absolutely sick!
Yeah, it’s just randomly changing all four drum engine parameters and goes from 0 - 99. Enough to slightly change a snare for example, or go completely bonkers on any engine. It’s also per key! Very nice.
There also seem to be three mute groups per patch and any sound can be looped. So it’s possible to use them as oscillators when turning down the length value. Almost sounds like a vocal synth with the FM drum engine.
Sorry if this has already been answered: has anybody tested whether the 8 channels show up if you connect it to a modern MPC via USB? Can it be used like an audio interface?
“It’s also per key” - what do you mean by this?
It’s really cool with randomising - thanks for explaining it.
Each key is it’s own drum so each drum in the kit gets its own random lfo not just for the whole kit
Exactly, but there’s also a random parameter for the whole kit in the envelope section. I think they nailed it front to back with the drumline engine.
They just wasted available resources for this gimmick multi usb out, but we have no second LFO…. Anyway, where is stream form this event?
Edit: Happy at least with a drum synth but cooooomoooon they could be at least a liiiitle bit more creative with this drum synth animations. Seriously.
Lol, calling multi tracking over USB a gimmick and not even mentioning that they made a whole drum synth because there’s no second LFO just sounds like you’re actively trying hard to be disappointed.
Second LFO is necessary to push it into the new sound territory. I was hoping also for separate envelopes for every drum sample at least.
This can’t be a serious post. multitrack usb out has been one of the most consistent feature requests.
It can only do 4 stereo tracks on the TX-6. You can assign each track on the OP-XY to any one of the channels on the TX-6. So you can have track 1 and 2 of the OP-XY assigned to channel 1 of the TX-6, track 3,4 to Ch 2, track 5,6 to ch 3, track 7,8 to ch 4. All stereo. Thanks @jeroen020 for the info.
That makes sense. I assume something similar for TP-7 which already treats each TX-6 channel as a mono recording.
I don’t need it, I can do my mix inside opxy. No need to send separate tracks to DAW. What I need is a second LFO, separate envelopes and filter for individual sample drum sounds and new synth engines.
plugging it into my mpc live 3 results in an immediate crash on OPXY.
I’m using whatever the default settings are for interfaces on both devices, I haven’t changed any usb settings on the XY yet. Latest OS on both devices.
