None. They do nothing

I recall tape fx volume being changed fiddling with that particular fader, but perhaps a phantom adjustment tricked my ears. :ear:

Use the external send effect flow? Out, in, and adjust send.

I’m one of those who has the boot up lag bug. I see that a few people did a factory reset and it seemed to work with them and others say it hasn’t. I’d love to understand if those who had success were doing something different than those it didn’t and/or if there was something particular about people set up that might be the relationship between having this bug or not. It doesn’t seem to be any information out from teenage engineering yet.

I’m not having any of these bugs yet thankfully but I’m done updating until people confirm the latest hot fixes are stable. Yikes. I know there’s only one dude working on the updates and I’m super appreciative about how fast they are cranking them out! That’s gotta be stressful.

Same, no issues here on either update.

Just adding my voice to the stats. Sucks for those facing issues.

I’m curious if the people who have the issue are the ones that used their web MIDI updater? I used the TE-Boot menu to mount as a drive and copy the FW file to it with all versions of the update and haven’t had any issue with stability or boot times or anything. Perhaps they have a lot more samples on theirs than I do? I’m not sure.

I did a back up , factory reset, update, factory reset again, and loaded my backup back on the device. Maybe i went overboard but no issues so far

I think it has to do with the amount of samples you have on the device. I have around 5GB of stuff on mine. I noticed the UI freezes are on screen exactly as long as the spinning wheel is when you press shift + sample. With this, after these screen freezes, pressing shift + sample loads the sample menu instantly rather than after 10 or so seconds. so it seems it’s trying to preload the sample browser without the user noticing but is locking up the UI instead

That’s one of my main hopes for a future update. Eq and two insert fx per track would make this a one-stop-shop for me.
Not sure the cpu can handle it though.

It’s still good as is but adding those would make it great imo

Check out the early concepts they had here

There seems to have been at one point a three band EQ for each track

Yeah the lack of an eq per track is bananarama. So damn basic for mixing.

I know it’s not a full answer but I do want to mention the high pass filter in case anyone didn’t know it was there.

Honestly some of the UI is pretty klunky and I’ll forget the button combo to find that page if I don’t use it for a few days.

The width parameter in there is also nice.

Agreed, there’s so many useful tools in there that you can forget about if you’re not using it all the time. I quite like the master eq/saturator/comp and wish my tonverk had that much action on the master out.

Another handy one is the velocity reactivity (I forgot what they call it.)

I play nearly everything in live so sometimes it acts almost as a bit of a compressor / leveler kind of thing if a certain take is too rambunctious.

I too have the boot up lag “bug”. It definitely began as soon as I updated to 1.1.15. Subsequent updates have made no difference.

I’ve done a full factory reset, and there is no lag to speak of on a fresh machine with NO samples. But as soon as I load ANY of my samples back onto the OPXY, I’m back to the same lag.

Upon boot of ANY project, it takes at least 45 to 60 seconds while the unit freezes (button presses do nothing) until it eventually unfreezes and then boots to normal. Only then can I browse samples and load them almost instantly. So the unit works once it gets through this “new” boot up “routine” which involves the unit freezing completely, until it unfreezes.

Interestingly, I went so far as to downgrade back to 1.1.14….where I never before had this issue….and now on 1.1.14 I have the SAME LAG! So whatever 1.1.15 did to my unit is sticking, even after downgrading back to prior firmware.

I am assuming that it changes something in my samples or presets folder that the unit can no longer read correctly? But even that is very curious, because once it’s gotten past the freezing and waiting….everything reads and loads perfectly….until I load a different/new project, where it lags and freezes again. And the cycle continues.

Really praying for some direction or fix from TE.

I’ve had a similar experience. Boot up instantly before the 1.1.15 fw. After update and subsequent updates to 1.1.18, boot up lags for ~30 secs. I did factory resets, and nothing fixed the issue. Where mine differs from your experience is I still had boot up lag even with no custom samples loaded after a fresh factory reset. So strange. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Has anyone reported this issue to TE?

I think it is crucial that it is reported… if anyone has a ticket number, could you please send it to me and I’ll try and get it directly to the software engineer.

Please add the description you had for the ticket as well, as it will be easier to convey the issue.
