OP-XY/Z User Thread

I’d love more lfo’s on the xy. an idea, would be cool if they’d let us use all 4 lfo types simultaneously. so you could have one element, one random, tremelo & value at the same time on each track. that would be nice.

I get that the device (and the Z too) are more about using step components to create movement and that. Tiz fair enough, step components are amazing. still, having access to more than 1 lfo type might be a nice thing. mibe.

That’s weird - I sent support a message this morning so will see if they offer any advice.

I did a video about scenes/patterns/songs. It ended up being less in-depth than I originally planned, but I think I drop some helpful tips throughout:

A few of the main points I cover:

  • Muting by holding Shift and pressing a track is preferable to turning the track’s volume down in the mixer, as the latter will affect every scene using that pattern.
  • Step components won’t change a scene’s duration, but they can make patterns last much longer.
  • Scenes automatically copy in arranger mode when you move to an empty scene. This is preferable to using the Clone function, which will take you to the lowest empty scene–even if that means cloning scene 41 to scene 3.

Thanks that was good. I was wondering what was going on with pattern mutes and scene lengths, thought it was a bug at first so I appreciate you clearing that up (and offering a workaround with the effects pattern length).

Anyone know if there is any trick than can be done to erase notes as the play head passes over them? Something you could do on volcas that I found to be a really good way to keep manipulating and developing one pattern without stopping the music
