OP-1 or Organelle?

If someone had asked to trade my organelle for their OP-1 6 months ago I would probably have gone for it for the sake of portability and the cool little screen, but recently as @mec1 mentions, the patches have gotten SERIOUSLY interesting acheiving things the OP-1 just couldn’t in terms of experiemental drum machines, generative music patches, seriously deep synth patches and a new one - Bubbler, which is a really cool granular delay. Hearing a lot of sounds i’ve not heard before come from my organelle recently. Couldn’t imagine doing without it now.

Looks a lot of fun for finding random stuff. Like a bunch of some of the weirder guitar pedals out there combined with sampler/synth in one box. Shame no battery but not a dealbreaker…

The Organelle continues to tug at me too. I go back and forth on my desire for the little thing. Our local synth shop has one and it is tiny!! A lot of the patches I’ve seen demoed in videos from C&G themselves have often fallen into the “I bet I could get the OT to do that with a little bit of coaxing” category. But some of the new stuff from the community really sings to the old experimentalist in me.

I still go back and forth on whether I should get this little device or spring for a new iPad or wait on the OP-Z…

I’ll be biased and say Op-1 after reacquiring one. I regretted selling it a few months after the first time. An epic tool people brush off as a toy.

Mods we need to merge this with the other organelle topic. Hopefully more and more people get this little machine. It is an unending source of much goodness and :mushroom:

As an Efx box it is massive :raised_hands:, as a noise generator big , as a random beat machine it is pure :vulcan:!!!

Updated Organelle with new color is pretty

That’s crazy…I feel like in real life mine looks like the right, but I definitely got mine in in 2016.

Wait, what? What did they update!?

I owned both, had the OP-1 for about a year and sold it when the price went up to 1,600. I just couldnt justify keeping it at that $$$. OP-1 its fun I used it in a couple of songs, nothing blew my mind sonically, though the construction its amazing much better than the organelle in my opinion. However the Organelle I still have and It did blew my mind, specially for sound design, granular stuff, I like to plug in my guitar into it and just make sound textures with the granular patches ans delays/fx patches, also for beats it can really do interesting things. I would like to have an organelle engine inside an elektron box that its really well built that would be perfect for me.
If you want to hear the organelle here is a song where I used it, you can hear it on the granular textures, its my guitar playing just a couple of strings through the organelle.
