OP-1 field

I actually turn the gain down on some of them - go figure!

I understand that there could be hardware limits, but one can dream right?

Bought it sealed. They said they won it or smth… and didn’t know how to use it. Snagged it without asking any questions

This is great. :+1:

I’ve been considering getting an OP-1 Field as a portable/compact option to get me away from my main 16" Macbook Pro (which is superb, but heavy!) and my iPad Pro. I really like the idea of how self-contained the OP-1f is, but then I look at the price and think I could get an M2 MacBook Air that I could dedicate to Ableton, and have some change left. Or doubling down on what I have already, and know, is the sensible decision…

I know you have an iPad setup too @echo_opera… interested to hear your take on having the OP-1f and the iPad… how big is the overlap? Do they work well together? etc

Couldn’t agree more, this synth as a mono sub bass is so simple to use yet so versatile. Between the different waveforms, the resonance and stereo image there are so many combinations!

I want to attach a wind controller. After initial velocity, is there a way to get the OP-1f’s volume to respond to aftertouch or breath CC?

I think they work fantastic together

I think this is the only music instrument that motivates me so much to play/produce music. Perfect integration with any apple product. I could spend a whole day just using it (if I had the time…)

Oooh would love to see even a casual video of how you use them together!!

Having trouble and didn’t find this in the manual-

I’m using one of the piano samples from rephazers pack when recording to tape. Is there a way to change octaves while real time recording? Pressing the left or right arrow seems to just move the tape forward, not give me a higher note.

Switch to synth mode before pushing the arrow buttons.

anyone install those aeoner presets that are available on the TE site? are they worthwile?

Ah I see, it just can’t be done in drum mode. Thank you!

It can also be done in drummode

Wouldn’t this overwrite sequenced notes and record new ones? In endless anyway.

Yeah it just can’t be done in tape mode. But record will work in synth or drum mode. So from tape select the track you’re going to record onto, switch to synth mode, hold REC and recording starts when you press the first key. You can then arrow left and right for octaves while you play.
Also, you can have it playing back, and on the fly hold rec in to lunch in an overdub and release and it goes back to playing. Or layers over what you’ve done before. So if you just need a single lower note, add it on another pass.

There are LFO options you could use, one reacts to tilting the device, another is an envelope follower from the input. Could be worth a look.

Did anyone encounter the stupid reset to factory setting bug after the latest firmware? I did today. Dammit.

If I recreate the tape folders the tapes are there. But no visual data is on them. They just play. The wav files appear in those folders after reboot

Yes, and yes. Synth sampler presets, no drums or multi sampled instruments in the drum sampler a-la rephazer - but still very good and useful.
