Only just realised that I don't need my iLok dongle

Just re-checked updates for all my iLok protected plugins and it turns out that all of them are now register-able on my 2 Macs, or via the iLok cloud mechanism.

So - that means one less USB slot required. Steinberg products next please!

If you’re still using the dongle and doing similar works better for you, it’s worth a look.

Only thing to consider is that if that computer dies - the licenses are gone. That’s why I always keep on the dongle and use a USB hub to provide more slots.

Same holds true for quite a lot of my software.

The iLok cloud thing works well - it can add a slight moment of delay to opening things, but nothing too bad.
