One painter artist who paints paintings

If you could posses a painting by any painter artist but never be allowed to sell it so the value is irrelevant, who would you chose?

I would go with Hammershøi preferably something without people.

I’ve always wanted an original sketch of Tintin haha. Read an artbook once that showed the original sketch of this one:

Imagine without all the lettering and such.

Kinda cute, compared to other “classical” paintings – there are many greats! – but if it’s just for the sake of owning/looking at it, it would be some Tintin, because of the personal (?) connection.

Well, do you actually own any paintings by your favorite painters? You would still be allowed to go to museums…

Pieter Brueghel the Elder

Deeper cut: Dino Buzzati

You should replace your painter every few years, or when it starts to show sings of wear. Cheap insurance.

Wait, what?

It would be a privilege to be the owner/caretaker for one of Mark Rothko’s paintings. I would never sell it.
