"Spare no expense" drum machines?

I’m pondering how many great sounding modules or tone generation + sequencer machines I have and whether I ought to pare down to less and “upgrade” some in the move to fewer. What do you think is a “spare no expense” drum machine? Sound quality, broadly excellent palette with larger sweet spots and customization / unique vision over adherence to just accurately recreating the past. Pulsar-23 seems to be pretty pricey but respected, does anything similar come to mind that’s currently being sold…

Drum machines - What's your favourites and why?

Im looking for some ideas, I guess people will say the RYTM MK2 but i’m not keen on the videos i’ve seen. Had the RYTM mk1 but sold it and the more I think about that drum machine the more I realise how varied and good it actually was. Is the MK2 a step up? Im currently using a metasonix d2000 which is great but for the money it’s SUPER limited. Bags of character with it though that i’d imagine you would get no where else. Had a 909 but got very bored of that sound very quickly. Same with the 8…

Want drum machine to get? Dgitakt, tr8s or Rytm mk2?

Hi folks, So want a decent drum machine I have a digitone so think digitakt would be familiar. I also have a model samples which I use as a drum machine and recently acquired the new roland aira t8 but its a bit weak, point was to add more drums but I’m not over the moon with it but do like it and the 303 voice is pretty cool. I think digitakt be good as would get a posh stand and would save space, unlike the tr8s. They are similarly priced, as is the new drumlogue, I’ve always ignored the ryt…

Drum Machines – Playability and Immediacy, or Depth and Versatility?

I’m a big time fan of the Octatrack, and I’m looking for another drum machine which will relieve it of its current drum duties, freeing up the OT as more of a sampler. I used a Digitone for a while, and though I loved it for many reasons I discovered I made more music and tended to have more fun using synthesizers which are more “playable” and knob per function, such as a Bass Station 2 or Minilogue. Because the OT makes a fantastic deep drum machine itself for samples, I feel it would be best…

Hence it is now a topic to discuss what would be anyone’s perfect drum machine. I’d have to flip a coin between the MDUW+ and the TR-8s. Both are great in slightly different ways.
