I already posted this on a non elektron forum, but I’m not on there much so I’m not sure how often questions are answered. Therefore I’m posting it here also.
I have a behringer ufx1204 mixer and I’m trying to configure in such a way so as to include the signal from the two aux fx (two external guitar pedals) pots on the Alt 3-4 bus. It seems that, on this mixer at least it is not possible. The manual has very little info on it and certainly there are no signal flow diagrams that I can see online anywhere for this particular mixer.
Can anyone tell me if this is normally possible on an average mixer which has aux sends/returns and an alt 3-4 bus?
Many thanks!
i don’t know that mixer. but you can always return FX on any mixer channel then assign those channels to the alt bus. when i run out of sends on my mackie i use the 4 buses for FX sends. just assign to the bus… patch out of the bus to FX input… return where desired. i use patch bays for everything so all the i/o is just facing me. makes life easier.

Thanks for the tip ignatius. I tried this too. I’ve sent an external reverb to it’s own stereo track and then routed that track to Alt 3-4, but the signal only comes out pre fader, ie. when I have closed the fader on the track which Im sending to the reverb the wet signal coming to the reverb stereo channel is still at max.
i see. .are you trying to have it not in the stereo bus w/everything else and have it only on the alt 3/4 bus? can you unassign it from the stereo bus? on most mixers w/alt busses you have ability to remove any channel from the main stereo mix by simply pressing the button on the relevant channel that either says “LR” or “Main” or something similar.

On this mixer there’s simply an alt 3-4 button on every channel including stereo ones. I just press this button on desired channel and this channel is routed to the 3-4 outputs and no longer to the main mix.
This is my current problem. I’m using alt 3-4 to send to my DAW for recording. I was surprised when i couldn’t hear my reverb which is sent through Aux 1. The only way is to go post-fader. Any solution to this?
The alt 3/4 is specific to Mackie (and I guess behringer) mixers from what i understand. Any fellow Mackie users that could share their set-up for feeding their DAW is much appreciated.
