So I’d like to covert a Samples from Mars library I got a while ago, and I’m finding there is no shortage of tools for doing various conversions. But I’m also finding that nearly everything I do yields unexpected results.
Is there a guide/FAQ out there that describes a good process or strategy for doing this?

What kind of conversion are you looking to do ?
Well, I’d like the multisample instruments like keys and pads to show up on the 'verk when I go looking for them for a multi player machine, same with drum kits for subtracks machine. It would make sense to have the hits from the kits also available as single samples.
I’ve tried Tonverk Emulti Converter and ConvertWithMoss in the hopes that it would be a straightforward batch conversion, but boy howdy it is not. Between the different ways things are organized in SfM, the options for conversion, the options for organizing the resulting files, and my overall ignorance this is looking a more difficult than I expected.
In short I’m looking for as much automation as possible over a hand-crafting each instrument/kit. Assuming that is possible!
id try sticking to one format in the sample from mars version (eg akai kits) , and convert those…
ive had some success with convertbymoss . but ive also tended to make my own kits, esp with making subtracks (setting up round robin samples and deciding which go on the 8 pads) … and how velocity layers change the sound .
id also try loading the converted multi file into a tonverk tool to view how things are arranged , its much more visual than randomly hitting keys on tonverk to figure out where theyre mapped on the keyboard .
if you make subtracks yourself the tools (loopseek / verkbench / bonk) will likely put the used samples in its own kit folder, so theyre easy to use again on TV , but you might get some duplication (tbh , drum samples are small so i dont care ) …
there is talk on the bonk thread about a ‘sample pool’ idea so they wouldnt be duplicated … dont think its implemented though. .
