great improvement(s) !

Amazing. Thanks
Going to download the update.
Prophet X is $4000. How much is this again  :joy:

Nice update! Doesn’t help with controlling gas. I had the “no need for hardware” vibes under control…

One is a TOP hardware synth, the other is a software…

Jesus what an update this is… I’m surprised they didn’t jump to version 3.0 with the amount of features they are adding. And it’s free for Omnisphere 2.0 owners… Amazing.

Thanks for clearing that up
Wow. This hardware synth integration sounds cool.
Have a Peak that’s a supported synth by Omnisphere so fun times ahead

This is interesting. Have a Omnisphere 2, so It’s great news. Don’t have any other supported HW synth than Peak, though.

No Virus Ti?

Looks cool. Hope they support Prophet 12 and/or Virus TI. The only currently listed synth I have is the JP08 and that just doesn’t excite me much.

So there is a software product talking with your hardware - I think I heared this before

Just watched the Sonic State video on this. Some of the sounds Omnisphere is pushing even surprised me and I own Omnisphere 2!

When I first heard the news I was kind of thinking “whats the big deal - just midi map” but when you see it in action it looks incredibly cool.

Might not make me buy a hardware synth but is a pretty cool addition if you already own one. I was considering a Deepmind again though…

Pretty cool, more software devs should do this! MIDI mapping isn’t necessarily difficult, but I’d like to avoid anything that has me micromanaging technical stuff and keeps me from directly making music.

I just wish my DSI Prophet 12 was included in the list. If you’re listening, Spectrasonics…

And this is much more than standard midi mapping

Direction taken by spectrasonics is so logical with this Omni 2.5. Makes great creative sense as well as taking into account the success of the hardare resurgance.
First they got the standalone working solid, so now omnisphere is good to go for live use on a dedicated machine.
The kink in the rope was how best to control such a powerful synth, i dislike the experiences of using omnisphere because of this. Now they are addressing this in way that embraces the new synth analogs etc without alienating anyone. I have blended prophet 6 with omnisphere, they do not compete but can work together sonically extremely well with careful use making sure omnisphere doesnt start ruling the playground…can get too big fast!

2.5 will just make this even more successful.

Omnisphere has always seemed a little overwhelming, but this update seems like it would help with the control thing. Is it worth getting?

I wouldn’t say it’s overwhelming. I get why you would think it is though. It’s one of those synths that you can quite happily fanny about on forever without ever going “under the hood” into all the smart, cleaver stuff.

Me, I am sorry to admit that I pretty much use it as an incredibly fancy rompler sticking to presets only. I often forget what it is capable of and how good it can sound.

If I had to sell everything and only have one vst though, Omnisphere would trump everything else I had.

Anyway, if you have one of the hardware synths to hand then 2.5 would really open things up for you. In a way it’s a shame they havent done fancy templates for midi controllers but I get why they havent - this is about utilising pre-existing synth layouts in a way that will be familiar to the user. So, hopefully they pick some dirt cheap hardware synths to map (Deepmind 12 springs to mind of the current list).

If you have the time, listen/watch Sonic States video with Eric. Very impressive.

Was watching the Sonic State demo of this on YouTube, it looks bad ass, I’ve been an Omni/Trilian (and now Keyscape) user for many years and recently bought a Subsequent 37 which I love, so really looking forward to using the two together. The integration is pretty inspiring - I’m sure it’ll set off a new generation of intuitive midi control standards for soft/hard synths.

If they add the Monologue, i’ll upgrade from my old 1.5 license.

I use the Monologue with lots of VSTs in instrument racks, but this would take it to a new level.
