Actually looks like it’s a design feature of a few Old Blood Noise pedals.

Those videos are honestly a primary reason I dislike her channel (aside from my general current distaste for geartube). She doesn’t deserve the hate and the frequently-misogynistic personal attacks are disgusting, but I really dislike feeding the ragebait machine. She is a great instrumentalist and musician. I like her music quite a lot, but I have to mostly ignore her online presence.
The pedal itself actually sounds better than I first thought upon relistening to the demos and I can see a place for it in shoegaze, post rock, and adjacent genres. I also think OBNE is like two years late to the lofi/glitch party and I question whether we need yet another lofi/glitch thing. I have the same feeling about the recent glut of MPC lofi/ glitch/ tape plugins.

To me this is better viewed as a really flexible reverb or something, the glitch capabilities are a neat party trick but when I watched the videos the parts that didn’t sound good to me were when they started to turn up the glitching. Even if that knob was straight up not on this pedal though, I heard some really nice sounding reverbs and tremolo and delays and 330 bucks for a full stereo well made pedal like this with lots of modes and flexibility is fair.
I am not sure what someone like her is supposed to do when people attack her for just doing her thing online but using it to make content seems more like a coping mechanism for her that lets her reclaim power from those strangers and she’s a lot more polite about it than some similar name-and-shame kinds of content I’ve seen before. I don’t really like YouTuber/influencer as a career for people but her channel fills an interesting niche and there is a legitimate need for women in the music and especially music gearhead space to be out there showing a way to do your thing and brush off the chuds. I also think there’s a very serious issue with people making horrifying comments to or about women on social media (though it’s not just limited to women, there is a trend…) and this is the kind of thing that society has to face and fix by looking directly at it.

I was pointing out a reason that I felt folks might be getting themselves annoyed about this for reasons that were based in some questionable personal concept of legitimacy, but I see how it can be read as my opinion.

As I grow older, the push towards wiser seems to be primarily coming from continually re-learning that I should mostly just say less. Hoping it takes effect soon.
