Octatrack wrong pan

hey there guys , i geus my octatrack is paned wrongly …
im recording it track by track to ableton live and every thack sounds higher to the left side … even tho i have the balance on every track to zero… whats going on… is a master balance on it? is it possible?

Is it definitely that the gain on your OT is higher in the left coming out of your OT? When you check the levels in your DAW (let’s say you’re doing stereo input 1+2) does the left side have more gain? Is it possible the gain pot/preamp on your interface is a little higher on channel 1 than on channel 2?

A surefire way to check is to plug headphones directly into your OT headphones output. Does the left still sound louder?

First, swap the connectors at the OT input\output.
If the problem remains unchanged, then the reason lies in the OT itself.
If the balance moves to the right - the problem is most likely in the connection cable or connectors.
Headphones are not a diagnostic tool in this case. They often give a soundscape different from the one that comes out at mainout.
