Octatrack sample packs management

Hi i’'m a noob on octatrack, I have some sample pack by elektron, I’ve created a new set for every sample pack installed, does you proceed the same way? How do you manage sample pack and octa memory usually?
Thanks

Hello existenz with every commercial pack you have a PDF " how to install ", right ?

Then it’s depend how you would like to work on project like track studio for make an EP - Album
Or build a Live Performance. I guess you can organize your Octatrack differently then… according to Audio Pool folder. Many Set = [One Project + 1 Audio Pool by trak for Production purpose] >> Studio Production Clean Organization
Or 1 set = [ Many Project + 1 audio Pool shared by every projects ] >> Live oriented

Pack usage :

To install:
Simply copy, the unpacked folder to your Compact Flash Card, via USB on the Octatrack or a card reader device from your computer.

To Load:
On the Octatrack hold the function button and hit the Mixer/Project button. In the File menu scroll down to Set/Change and hit enter select the pack from the menu and hit enter again.

Then in the same file window scroll up and select Project/Change and hit enter, finally select the project and hit enter once more.
When the Octatrack has finished loading the project hit the Exit/No button and your ready to play.

Yes yes thank you! I know how to install, reading the PDF obviously, my question was oriented on the organization of samples… I can then in one set take the sample of another set without the computer?

Your OT mount like a Camera. You do everything you want in audio pool. You can have one SET with multiple Project sharing the Audio Pool inside that SET. Or Many SET with One Project and its audio pool. You choose if your projects need to share one Audio Pool or not…

You organize your machine how you want depends of your need

What is your way to work, what is your goal : Live, Studio Production, Both ?

ok, got it, both anyway.
thank you son much william!

a SET : is a LIVE performance or an Album
a Project : is a Song, a Track, a Loop
There’s one Audio Pool by SET : where every sample is located.

So you can’t access the Audio Pool (from SET 01) if your are in SET 02

perfect, thanks a lot!
