Octatrack pickup machine monitoring

Hi,

Is there a way to monitor input to pickup device only when it is not playing back?

Here is my setup:
Pickup track with external input
In rec settings, input monitoring in A

When I hit play
Hearing input from external device yay!

When I hit record
Hearing input from external device as it records yay!

When playback begins
Recording and external device monitoring both play, causing doubling + phasing not yay.

I would like that when pickup device plays, no monitoring input plays

Is this possible with pickup machine?

Other option:
Use flex track and record trigs, but it is a pain in the ass to use.
In this setup, with record trig on first beat, incoming signal is always recorded to the buffer and played out similar to a monitor. Then when I want to capture the recording, I have to go into record settings, and remove the trig. Too many button presses

I think you just need to enable delay compensation in your settings.

Welcome @Minimart

I’d use that option.
Instead of removing the trig, you can change to next pattern, a copy of recording pattern without the rec trig…

I’d say that concerning PickUps, for several reasons.
With PU, I can’t see other solution than set monitoring to 0, possible with DIR and crossfader/scenes.
