Octatrack, Overbridge (with A4 or AR) and Innerclock

Hi guys, sorry for the noob question:
So I have AR and Octatrack and have the opportunity to get an innerclock pro gen to make the octa tight with Ableton Live. Before I spend money on this though, I was wondering: Since Overbridge will apparently make the AR tight with Live, will there be a way to sync AR to Live via Overbridge and then Octa to AR, thus eliminating the need for innerclock for octa?
Thanks a lot!

I don’t see why this should not be possible.

If AR is getting clock from Live there should be no problem relaying the clock to OT from there?

If in doubt, wait until OB is released, it should not be too long. There might be info at NAMM and according to elektron.se they are aiming to release open beta on overbridge in February.

I would not hold my breath for Overbridge being a solution to midi clock timing. Unless it uses a mechanism similar to Innerclock systems. That being a seperate device that converts audio into midi. Solutions to midi clock problems are expensive because they require extra hardware. There’s a new box by E-RM that looks interesting. Works on same principles as Innerclock.

I would be really surprised if Overbridge manages to fix with software what is fundamentally a hardware issue. I will eat my hat if it does

I would be absolutely delighted if sync with ableton was tight with overbridge.
Pessimistic though, given that clock sync over usb is currently sub par.
