Octatrack noises

It doesn’t have a good beat, you can’t dance to it, and it’s not going to promote world peace.

Just a couple of Octatracks spitting out atmospherics. Sequencing done by the Cirklon - OTs were being driven via MIDI notes/CCs.

that’s pretty interesting… normally, I might have listened to just a few seconds and given up on it, but I found myself listening to pretty much all of it. What kind audio source material did you start with?

Thanks. I used a sample I made from my PPG and the rest were from various sounds sampled off the Memotron and then mangled.
Since the Memotron is a digital version of the analog sampler Mellotron, the sounds have been re-re-re-sampled. :joy:
I just did it old school - set up 8 tracks for manual sampling using HOLD mode, started sampling, pressed a key to trigger a sound, then went in and did the standard trim and normalization and assignment on the OT. It was good practice.
I like a lot of different music, ranging from reggae to Bob Dylan to stuff like Coil and Nurse With Wound. This was an experiment in the style of NWW to help me get more comfortable with some of the nooks and crannies of the OT and the Cirklon.
