Octatrack MKII Freezes After StartupCompactFlash Card Not Detected

answers based on my own borked original OT CF card and MK1

    1. yes. card failure means OT cannot load files and everything gets stuck in a state attempting to load a project. card is detected, OT boots up and tries to load the last active set, but due to card failure it endlessly reads and nothing loads/progresses — “Card Status” LED gets stuck with green indicator on my MK1 and buttons don’t do anything.
    1. no idea. you can contact elektron support directly link at the bottom of this page. take a look at page 112 in the manual — 8.1 TEST MODE. no one here can help much with a hardware fault / diagnostic. only elektron or your original retailer can help with that. (having said that — NO INT looks like it could be a new MK2 thing regarding the cf card being dead Ata [no int] : CF card issues)
    1. should do / seems like it will based on Ata [no int] : CF card issues. also see page 15 in the manual for allowed disk format options — 3.4.1 COMPACT FLASH CARD SPECIFICATIONS
    1. officially detailed in the manual on page 15 — 3.4.1 COMPACT FLASH CARD SPECIFICATIONS. recommend buying the highest read speed you can afford. don’t be cheap. spend the money. check out this thread for recommendations / discussion Compact Flash - what's best for OT
    1. no, you’ll just need to create/mount a new set on first boot on a properly formatted CF card. see page 23 — 6.2.1 MOUNTING A SET (and the preceding paragraph)
    1. unlikely needs an update. but i’m not official support and i have no idea what ATA stands for. if it freezes during boot up it’s the card usually. replace the card or try demo mode as mentioned above.
    1. demo mode mentioned above, new CF card, contact elektron support at link included above.

none of the above is official support and i accept no responsibility for anything (except for things occurring in my own life but that’s tangential to this topic).
