Octatrack MIDI CC to external gear controlled by modwheel

I have a “dumb” synth that can receive MIDI CCs, but doesn’t have a mod matrix - let’s call it Minitaur.
I want to control one of those MIDI CCable things (say filter cutoff frequency) with some CC.
Also I want to do this controlling with the modwheel on my MIDI keyboard.
Esentially I want to tell Octatrack - hey, when I move the modwheel, send that as MIDI CC such and such to my external synth.

I can remap the modwheel to Minitaur’s CC # that I want to control, but then I won’t be able to use the modwheel for mod mapping on other synths.

Wait the Minitaur doesn’t let you set the filter on the mod wheel?

According to the manual the filter cutoff frequency is controlled via CC 19. Since the modwheel sends CC 1 (this seems to be standard), it will not react to that unless I change it in the controller. Keystep allows this, but this “breaks” the modwheel for everything else.

Bought a Blokas Midihub device. It can also remap CCs so yay I can do whatever I want :slight_smile:
