Octatrack, different tempo tracks

Hi, Im trying to find this on forum but didn’t manage to get any answers,

Im making some sequencing from my octatrack to my modular and say for example i want to play a arp from midi track 1 and want it to be slower so i can play longer sequences during the 64 steps, is that possible? Ive tried to set scale mode per track but when i choose lower division it’s only playing 8 steps, would really appreciate some help here

E.g - 130BPM kick on track 2 normal 4/4 and then track 1 midi arp 64 steps but slower in the sequencing part so I can have more notes and changes instead of changing pattern all the time

Chain patterns together for longer sequnces at same step resolution.

Or use arranger mode to automate pattern chains.

Or work at 1/2 your BPM ( eg 65bpm) and use x 2 multplier.

Many ways to achieve your goal

Thanks! Will try this when i come home

Also change the master length in the scale editor. A track with 1/2 division means you need twice as many steps for the master length.

You might also need to change the “chain after” duration. I can’t remember where it is… probably in the [FUNC]+[PATTERN] menu.

With master length set to inf, you have to set it, otherwise OT would not be able to change to another pattern. It´s in the pattern settings menu, [Func]+[Bank] on MK1, [Func]+[PTN] on MK2.

But it´s also convenient to set the chain behaviour in a way so that all patterns behave similarly. For example, all patterns change after 64 steps, or after 16 steps, no matter how long the master length is set.
