As a luddite to Midi, can anyone help me set up the OT to Ableton?

My process is to use Ableton as a sound source to sample from, however, I want the OT to start and stop Ableton so everything is in sync?

Hope this makes sense, I have a midi to usb cable but don’t know what settings I need.

Menu MIDI > SYNC
Check Transport and Clock SEND.

I don’t use Ableton. Google says :

To slave Ableton Live to an external MIDI clock, connect your master device to your computer’s MIDI input, enable Sync for that input in Ableton’s Link Tempo MIDI preferences, and click the Ext button in the upper left corner of Ableton’s transport bar
