Octatrack Ableton Sync

Hey guys,
Does anyone know if its possible to sync octatrack with ableton so that when you press stop and play on the octatrack it will cause ableton to stop and play. I have it synced so that ableton will start and stop the octatrack but it would be nice if I could command the session straight from the octatracck instead of reaching over to my keyboard to play/pause the song.

I guess you need Max For Live though. You can also do it if you make OT the master, but Transporter would probably be the better way to go.

Sure, set Octatrack to send transport and sync (Project Menu -> Midi -> Sync, in Ableton Live go to prefetences and activate sync for the midi port your Octatracks midi out is connected to:

Like here shown for the TR8:

Then activate the ext button for external midi sync

Select midi sync type ‘pattern’ and ‘midi clock’ for that midi port.
